OKC MySQL User Group Launched!

In response to some discussion with other attendees at the recent Spring Beta 2014 conference in Oklahoma City, I’ve decided it is time to create a local MySQL User Group.

The goal of this site is to bring local users of MySQL together through meet-ups and this online forum to discuss the current database environment of the metro.  What are the trends?  What are you seeing in the industry?  What can we do to improve the ecosystem?

Topics on this site will be geared towards MySQL, but it can also serve as a forum to discuss database technologies in general.

Be sure to check back often as we plan to get our first meet-ups on the calendar over the summer!

  1. Hi Mike,
Thanks for organizing this group! It fills an unmet need in Oklahoma City for a MySQL user group.

While I don’t live there, as Percona’s community manager, I am happy to let you know that we’ll be sponsoring this group! Pizzas, beverages + giveaways and raffle prizes (including full passes to the Percona Live MySQL Conference and Expo events).

I look forward to working with you on making this group the best it can be and a valuable resource to the local MySQL community.
