Inaugural Meetup

I’m currently planning the first meetup for the OKC MySQL users group.  The general timeframe is currently late July with specifics (time/location) yet to be determined.

I’m working on bringing in an exciting outside speaker and will post more details as the time approaches.  If you have any ideas for topics that you would like to discuss, please add them as comments to this thread.

You can also join our group on meetup.com and here is the link for this event (you should sign up and I’ll broadcast more information as it becomes available).

Thanks and I look forward to seeing you there!

OKC MySQL User Group Launched!

In response to some discussion with other attendees at the recent Spring Beta 2014 conference in Oklahoma City, I’ve decided it is time to create a local MySQL User Group.

The goal of this site is to bring local users of MySQL together through meet-ups and this online forum to discuss the current database environment of the metro.  What are the trends?  What are you seeing in the industry?  What can we do to improve the ecosystem?

Topics on this site will be geared towards MySQL, but it can also serve as a forum to discuss database technologies in general.

Be sure to check back often as we plan to get our first meet-ups on the calendar over the summer!
